Quote – Losing our Freedom

I’ve had this quote in my file for some time. I’m not sure who said it. Possibly Col Thieme. (If any of my readers recognize this piece and know the person who originated it, please let me know).  Anyway, given the vote by our Congress on Sunday, it seems apropos…

HOW WE ARE LOSING OUR FREEDOM:
MARRIAGE AND THE INSECURE GENERATION

Insecure husbands result in insecure wives.

Insecure parents result in insecure children.

Insecure children produce an insecure generation.

Insecure generations demand security.

In demanding security from government, an insecure generation becomes an entitlement generation.

Entitlements are offered to the insecure generation by insecure politicians.

The vehicle for entitlements become some form of socialism offered by an insecure government divorced from the establishment principle found in the infallible Word of God.

To finance this pseudo security of socialism an insecure government gains power, security and entitlement for itself through confiscation of wealth by unjust taxation, redistribution of wealth in the name of the greater good for the greater number.

In the process, utopian socialism combines with Marxism to establish economic and political doctrine based on false theories of dialectical materialism and promotion of class warfare. The result is big government which provides pseudo security to the insecure through public lies and false promises. Sugar coated with tricky words of demagoguery which results in destruction of human freedom.

Instead of government being the servant of the people, the entitled insecure people become the slave of big government.

And it’s happening right before our eyes.

    Dear Karen:

    Hello . . .I am not sure as to the author, but, it sure does have that marvelous “tone” to it doesn’t it. And if I were a betting man, I suppose that I’d put everything on it in favor of Roberts pen. However, if I were also to call him up on the phone, as it were, I believe that I’d all the better hold the phone a few inches from my ear after reading it’s text . . . Ha . . . Ha . . . for if I were that betting man again, I believe that there would be some sort of an “Addendum” added to it that would most likely run like this:

    “YOU ARE A PRODUCT OF YOUR OWN DECISSIONS!!!!! EQUIL PRIVALEDGE AND EQUIL OPPORTUNITY!!!!”

    True, parents, and environment as well, have a tremendous amount of influence that can be very instrumental in the success, or failure of the child (and to use one of Roberts’s favorite conjunctions . . . see if you can hear the tone of his voice in this) “AND” Governments do wield the tremendous sword of freedom or tyranny, but nevertheless, and as always, “Kurios Iesous Christos” always, and still by the way, controls history and we the “shrinking” can do the one thing that . . . well, to quote one of my nieces favorite cartoon characters that always makes me laugh . . . that goes something like this:

    “What are we going to do tomorrow night Brain? . . .The same thing that we do every night Pinky . . . try and take over the world”

    Yep, that’s the program, we have Bible class “tonight, tomorrow night, the next night . . . oh, and what are we going to do after that??? Oh yea . . .” So without any further ado, I’ll also dig deep into the “old file cabinet” that too is a reference from some series I listened to long ago– it must have been form the “Right Man, Right Woman”series, or at least that is where is seems to fit, but nevertheless it sure did make an impression on little old wine maker me. I’ll leave you with it, perhaps there’s something that smacks of the virtues of the “Christian Solder” that is desperately needed at this time.

    True; a new mistresse now I chase,
    The first foe in the field;
    And with a stronger faith embrace
    A sword, a horse, a shield.

    Yet this inconstancy is such
    As you too shall adore;
    I could not love thee dear(America) so much,
    Lov’d I not honor more.

    Well off to work we go . . .blast it all . . .See ya kid-o

    We thank the Lord for the legacy of our Doctrinal pastors that is for certain.

    Keep the faith. 🙂

    Though I love America, recent events serve to remind me that it’s not Home…

    Dear Karen,

    After some thought on the subject, and of course a little “dusting off’ of the file cabinet and going over some of the things that I read, well quite honestly, too long ago now and needed some review . . . hmm . . . (Review; gee that’s a laugh . . . thought someone had gotten past complaining about repetition) and I found this in an old dog-eared copy of “the Faith-Rest Life” and took it to the Lake in repose. This is where the dog and I do our “Nightly Knightliness” and make the rounds; usually burning an hour of the night befores lesson on CD “for review” Be that as it may, the book was going along splendidly until page 37 come into focus and I immediately thought of your last post.

    You know, Robert was so far advanced from the time frame in which he taught, I wonder if he knew this, seems reasonable . . .Hmmmm . . . doesn’t it? And now that I have the chance to think of it . . . perhaps that is why so many folks missed the point and “pealed off’, as it were; I believe that is the reference he used and appropriately so I should ad as well. Oh and yes, this is seems to be of interest: the book was copy righted in 1961; now imagine that little tid bit . . .

    Well, hear is the text. I’ll try to write it verbatim in the event your copy is in worse shape than mine, however, this simply couldn’t be 🙂

    “If you haven’t realized it, these are times of unrest. It is difficult to find a clear thinking American any more. The only clear thinking being done today is by people who have some doctrine in there frontal lobe. This situation is not very promising. And yet in spite of all of this there is an area in which we can have absolute and perfect peace, a peace which will cause us to be ready for the crisis when it comes. In a crisis we need people who can orient in a hurry, people who do not fall apart and sit on the “panic button” and who do not have to run and check in with a psychiatrist or psychologist, or who seek some other form of sublimation. We will have to have people who can stand in the crisis and mix the promises of God with faith. People who know “that all things work together for the good to them who love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Rom8:28) People who can stand in the gap. They will be the ones who are using the faith-rest technique.”

    Ah, no one ever put it better than the Colonel. The body of doctrine he left for us is truly priceless! The Mind of Christ!
